GMI | MULTI-CHOICE ADVENTURE BOOK

Objective

Create standout swag that would engage business security decision makers and set GMI apart at cybersecurity events.

Solution

We made them heroes of their own multi-choice adventure book! The 85-page pulp novel was a nod back to the interactive adventure books many enjoyed as kids. Just like its predecessor, readers were tasked with making choices that steered the story to positive outcomes, or, more commonly, a humiliating end or grizzly death.

The book, dedicated to “IT managers, security professionals, and all who fight the good fight against cybercrime,” featured the reader as a new IT director trying to outwit internal and external threats to keep the company secure. Introducing GMI, it also hammered home the point that the world of IT and security management is fraught with peril, but it feels better when you have the right ally on your side.

The collaborative project and labor of love featured the talents of writer Joel Thomas, security expert Aaron Sierra, and illustrator Clark Kohanek. It was as much fun to make as it is to read and re-read trying to discover all the good and bad outcomes.
