To aid motivation and retention, improve employee attachment to the brand at Nike’s largest distribution center.
Solution
Extend Nike branding into the work areas, where employees spend most of their time. Doing so better leveraged one of the world’s strongest brands and differentiated the distribution center from other local options, such as FedEx.
Created branded huddle spaces. Nike teams start each shift stretching, discussing goals, and sharing important information. The new spaces enhanced this experience with Nike branding, improved whiteboards, and display cases to celebrate the latest and greatest Nike product otherwise hidden within the boxes they were shipping out to consumers.
After soliciting employee input on their favorite historical Nike athletes, had larger-than-life murals painted throughout the distribution center. Each included a corresponding motivational quote from the beloved athlete.
Installed interactive slap boards above the doorways of the primary employee entrance. Inspired by the collegiate tradition, the Nike team could enter their workspace in the same spirit athletes take to their fields of play.
Outcome
The experienced mural paintercommented that this was the most he had been approached when installing murals. The employees were overjoyed and felt more acknowledged seeing the murals painted into their workspace.
